History

Kelly's Port original facility was built in 1929 before the completion of the Great Osage River. Known first as the Rocky Comfort Hotel, the resort was one of the first establishments on the Lake and as time went by the business evolved and became Gaitlin's Boat Yard - the first marina at the Lake of the Ozarks to see and service boats.

After some time in the saloon business in Kansas City, Randy and Jane Kelly came to the Lake in 1977 to give the marina business a try. With little to no experience in the marine industry, they were embarking in uncharted waters. After the marina got on its feet, Jane went on to real estate in 1979 and has been recognized multiple times as the largest Re/Max agent in the three-state region.

The business has continued to grow from the first days in 1977, and nothing is slowing that growth down. In 1993, Kelly's Port broke ground on the Osage Beach Marina. The marina facility offers all the amenities of a full-service marina in addition to sales, wet and dry storage, swimming pool and bathhouses, and what has been recognized as the best service facility in the Lake area. 

In June of 2007, we opened the Lake's first 8,400 sq. ft. retail boat showroom with the ability to show boats up to 50 feet indoors. And since we're open year-round, this makes buying a boat in the winter a breeze.

Being Regal's oldest dealer and was recently ranked #1 in the World in Customer Satisfaction.  They're the only dealer in the world to be ranked in the Top Ten for Customer Service as well as ranked in the Top Ten for Retail Sales. Our commitment to customer service has been our culture that has defined our company for almost half of a century.

Owners - The Kelly Family

Randy Kelly got involved in the boating business back in 1977 with hardly any experience in the marine industry. He didn't even know that you needed to winterize a boat before he purchased the marina. However, with a passion to learn and an overwhelming sense of obligation to take care of the customer, he slowly worked his way to develop a business model that is concentrated around taking care of the customer. As co-founder of the Harbor Hop, Spring In-Water Boat Show, and Overland Park Boat Show, Randy has consistently had a concentration on making the Lake of the Ozarks a fun and safe place for families to enjoy their time on the water.

Passing on that same culture to his sons of hard-work, taking care of your employees ("making it easy for the next guy") and delivering an exceptional customer expectation - Kyle and Ryan Kelly have followed their father's footsteps and are running the dealership while Randy enjoys his time golfing and spoiling grandchildren.  Ryan and Kyle are present in the dealership along with the greatest team members delivering the best customer experience at the Lake.
