In fact, it can be hard picking where to go among the many options, which is why we created this handy guide to some of the best fishing spots in the state. Make sure you check them out! You can stop by Kelly’s Port in Osage Beach, MO, to chat with us about your favorite boating destinations, while we show you our stock of boats, too.
Lake of the Ozarks (Village of Four Seasons, MO)
This is a beautiful man-made reservoir on the Osage River that’s perfect for fishing. You’ll get easy access to a variety of species, including largemouth and spotted bass, black and white crappie, catfish, walleye, paddlefish, and bluegill. While there are plenty of sights to enjoy, the highlight of the area is the unique serpentine shape of the lake spanning over 14,000 square miles, because of which it’s referred to as “The Magic Dragon”. The lake has two boat launching ramps along the shore, so try fishing or trolling with a variety of lures to get plenty of catches.
Fleming Park (Blue Springs, MO)
This scenic destination isn’t just a great place for fishing, but it’s also a wonderful location for camping. Bring your boat and spend a weekend at a nearby campsite to hit one of the best places in Missouri for flathead catfish and hybrid striped bass. There’s a disability-friendly fishing dock to make sure that everyone can have a fun time. Push your fishing boat into the water from the ramp and get ready for a memorable adventure.
Busch Conservation Area (St. Charles, MO)
For an excellent fishing spot with gorgeous scenery, try taking your boat to this place for your next trip. Spread over nearly 7,000 acres, the Busch Conservation Area includes a cache of 28 lakes that host plenty of sunfish, catfish, big bass, rainbow trout, white crappie, and bluegill. You’ll always be able to find something fun to do in this family-friendly area. There are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, including a kids-only fishing pond for your under-15 anglers who want a chance at catching a fish on their own.
